About Venuogopal V R, the founder
Venugopal V Ramaiah, Founder, Emerald Enclave
Mr. Venugopal V Ramaiah is a Civil Engineer hailing from a farmer's family from Kolar. After graduating as a Civil Engineer from University of Mysore in 1981, he worked for Larsen and Toubro in Mysuru and other smaller companies in his field.
Three years later, he became an entrepreneur on his own and executed a series of construction contracts, including specialized construction contracts for a government lab.
In the year 1993, the project Emerald Enclave was envisaged and started by him with the intent of creating quality living space for people. He also used this idea and project to experiment on various other sustainable technologies.
This idea was envisaged and executed long before real estate and plots were a profitable business. His passion for civil engineering combined with his interest for eco-friendly sustainable development model, he envisaged large sized plots of 80' x 120' having a hundred trees in the periphery of the site, with all the trees having drip irrigation!
At Emerald Enclave, Mr. Venugopal experimented with various aspects of sustainable development like:
- Drip Irrigated Teak Farming - Huge feat of growing 50000 trees in the lifetime of a person!
- Rain Water Harvesting across the area used for recharging.
- Ground Water Recharging - Entire area has strategic ground water recharging pits
- Small bunds on road side to help percolate water into ground instead of into a ditch or low lying area.
A natural canopy formed in a plot by rows of trees on a summer day. |
